Since the running community is trying to promote more inclusivity, there are plenty of ways to celebrate all month long while you continue to rack up the miles. Now more than 50 years later, we still celebrate Pride every June as a time to honor those who have fought long and hard for LGBTQ+ rights, to proclaim our pride in being queer, and also just to have an excuse to throw massive city-wide parties for everyone to enjoy.
The following year, on the Stonewall Riot’s anniversary, the first Gay Pride march took place to commemorate the watershed moment in LGBT rights.
